    Free to schools

There’s no cost for institutions to participate in the Clearinghouse’s Enrollment Reporting service or to use our compliance resources, including receiving assistance from our Audit Resource Center’s operational experts.

    Stay in compliance

The Clearinghouse stays current with the latest compliance requirements. We update our processes as needed and keep our participating schools informed. We also offer free access to best practices, audit support, and training via Compliance Central to help you stay compliant.

    Reduce workload

Once your school reports your students’ enrollment status to the Clearinghouse, we report it, on your behalf, to guaranty agencies, lenders, servicers, and the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). Our secure and centralized process reduces the administrative burden on both schools and education finance providers.

    Save time & money

The Clearinghouse enables you to automate your school’s federally required enrollment reporting, decreasing the costs of compliance reporting and freeing your staff for other work.

We also save time and money for education finance providers by enabling them to exchange data with a single trusted entity instead of multiple institutions.

    How Your Learners Benefit

Automating enrollment and deferment reporting through the Clearinghouse’s Enrollment Reporting helps keep your eligible students in deferment and decreases loan delinquency and default rates. It eliminates the work of manual student loan-based verifications and deferment reporting while improving the service you provide to your students.

    Captures All Students, Improves Accuracy

The Clearinghouse reports both federal and private aid recipients to ensure students are not overlooked. We identify and add students who would otherwise be missed by NSLDS. Each year, our work eliminates the need for millions of deferment forms. In addition, all school data submitted to us goes through our data pre-check; through this process, we find and fix an average of 176.2 errors per 1,000 records, preventing those from becoming NSLDS errors.

    Enrollment Reporting

The Clearinghouse’s Enrollment Reporting service is an easy way for you to offload the burden of providing status information on student financial aid recipients to the education finance industry and the Department of Education (ED). Smaller institutions (fewer than 100 students) can opt to use the Clearinghouse Online Reporting Application (CORA), which enables schools with limited technical resources to participate in basic services.

    Total Enrollment Reporting Process

Participating in the Clearinghouse’s Total Enrollment Reporting Process (TERP) helps education finance providers eliminate paperwork, reduce default rates, and decrease servicing expenses. It also immediately improves your ability to track and respond to your borrowers’ enrollment status changes.
