Three Resources to Help Secondary School Leaders Prepare Students for Success Beyond High School

The transition from high school to college is a pivotal moment in a student’s academic journey, and secondary school leaders play a crucial role in it. As the 2026-27 school year begins, the National Student Clearinghouse is here to support you. We’re proud to provide data and services that can help you prepare your students for success beyond high school.

Three Clearinghouse Resources for Secondary School Leaders

Check out these three resources from the Clearinghouse that can help you turn data into action and action into results for your students.

    1. StudentTracker for High Schools: Turning Data into Insights

StudentTracker gives secondary school leaders access to real-time, nationwide data on postsecondary enrollment, persistence, and completion. With this information, educators can identify trends, evaluate the effectiveness of college readiness programs, and uncover performance gaps. These insights enable high schools to develop strategies to better support students.

    2. High School Benchmarks Report: Turning Insights into Action

The High School Benchmarks report, an annual series from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, helps secondary education professionals and policymakers evaluate key postsecondary outcomes, such as college enrollment, first-year persistence, and credential completion.

The latest report, released in September 2025, examined immediate college enrollment for the high school graduating class of 2024, persistence for the class of 2022, and completion for the class of 2018. Check out highlights from the 2025 High School Benchmarks report.

Keep a look out! The Research Center will release the 2026 High School Benchmarks report in mid-September.

    3. DiplomaVerify: Turning Data into Results

Education verification is an important part of the job hiring process. DiplomaVerify streamlines high school diploma verification, saving time and resources. By automating responses to third-party verification requests, such as those from employers, background screeners, and colleges, DiplomaVerify reduces manual processing and helps your students qualify faster for opportunities. Schools can ensure that graduate credentials are verified quickly and accurately, while maintaining control over student records.

Did you know? StudentTracker for High Schools users can enroll in DiplomaVerify at no cost. The more student records a school submits to the Clearinghouse, the fewer manual verification requests staff need to manage.
