How Shasta Reduced Barriers to College Enrollment Success (60 minutes)
Shasta County Office of Education and Shasta College’s North State Together have partnered together to reduce the barriers to successful college enrollment at Shasta College. Join us to hear how Tara Schwerdt, School Counseling Coordinator at Shasta County Office of Education, and James Crandall, Regional Director – Data Strategies at North State Together, used data to identify and form relationships with their top colleges, identify the students who needed assistance with specific barriers, and how StudentTracker — along with other data — assisted in these results. Shasta received a Golden Bell award for their Student Matriculation Project that resulted in a 46% increase in Shasta County students enrolling at Shasta College during the fall after high school graduation.
