Here is the landing page of the PDP Interface.
The hyperlink on the Submission Number will only be available if there is an error contained within the file. Click on the submission number to go to the Error Resolution Report.
This is the error resolution report. It is important to read through the Error Message, Proposed Solution, and Affected Line Number fields carefully.
Here is an error message for an invalid CIP code. To locate the error in the file, please refer to the Affected Line Numbers field, which will indicate which row of data the CIP code error is found. If there are multiple CIP code errors, each row number will be listed. Please note, the CIP code field is only collected within the Detail Record in the Course file. The Proposed Solution states that the value entered is not a valid Course CIP.
This can be verified on the National Center for Education Statistics website. The link is provided on the data definition table in the Submission Guide.
As you can see, the CIP code entered is not found.
As stated in the Validation/Business Rule, the CIP Code must be entered exactly as shown on the NCES website.
You must find the CIP code for every course the student enrolled in at your institution.
Then, provide the valid CIP code in your file.
If you are unable to find the CIP code for a course, please populate the field with the allowed value of ‘missing.’
Please review your file and make the necessary changes.
Then, resubmit the file via secure FTP.
