AIR will be offering the following virtual workshop.
The Postsecondary Data Partnership, hosted by the National Student Clearinghouse, is a set of online dashboards that can transform how your institution understands and shares information about student success. These dashboards provide early momentum and outcomes metrics to help stakeholders advance student success and identify equity gaps. This workshop is focused on helping those new to the PDP, or those interested in learning more about the PDP, to better navigate these dashboards and to use this information to improve student outcomes.
As a result of this workshop, participants will:
- Understand the purpose and development of the PDP dashboards
- Understand the PDP metrics and their use in student success
- Understand how to navigate the PDP dashboards to identify trends and equity gaps
For postsecondary institutions participating in the PDP. Registration closes September 28 or when seating capacity is reached.

Event Details
AIR will be offering the following virtual workshop.
Continuous quality improvement (CQI) aims to create measurable improvement in an institution’s efficiency and effectiveness in its operational practices and processes to improve student access, retention, and outcomes. This process is often used in institutional accreditation as evidence of quality processes and in efforts to measure and improve student learning. This workshop provides participants with an understanding of the CQI process, using the PDP to identify a challenge facing a particular student population, constructing an improvement plan, and creating a strategy to share this process and findings with institutional stakeholders to create buy-in and effect change.
As a result of this workshop, participants will:
- Articulate the implementation of a continuous quality improvement process and resulting implication on student success initiatives.
- Identify student population(s) requiring intentional continuous improvement strategies.
- Use the PDP dashboards to understand outcomes metrics like academic momentum and retention.
- Discuss how to share this information with institutional stakeholders to build buy-in and create change.
This intermediate-level workshop is designed for current PDP users who have experience with basic PDP dashboard navigation. The workshop focuses on the Retention/Persistence and Credit Completion Ratio dashboards, so you must be familiar with their definitions and navigation. Registration closes October 12 or when seating capacity is reached.

Event Details
AIR will be offering the following virtual workshop.
Increasing student retention is one of the most common priorities on an institution’s strategic plan.
Federal compliance reporting requirements focus only on first-time, full-time freshmen in retention calculations and exclude transfer and part-time students. Furthermore, reporting only shines a light on one-year retention and graduation, rather than the experience of the full population along the entire student life cycle. Finally, focusing on overall retention trends obscures the experience of underserved student subgroups.
The National Student Clearinghouse’s Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) dashboards can help data professionals better understand which students are leaving and when.
In this interactive session, facilitators will demonstrate how institutions have used the PDP dashboards to answer these questions. Participants in this session will have an opportunity to conduct their own inquiries using their institutional dashboards and will share their findings in a community of practice. Answering these types of questions will help institutions and data professionals to inform strategic planning and achieve institutional priorities.
As a result of this workshop, participants will:
- Understand how to use the Postsecondary Data Partnership dashboards to deeply understand trends in undergraduate retention.
- Practice using PDP dashboards to identify institution-specific findings pertaining to retention.
- Explore reflective questions to help turn insight into action.
