Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Retains StudentTracker Premium Service
As part of an ongoing commitment to provide increasingly useful and actionable data and insight, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) retained last fall StudentTracker® Premium data services from the National Student Clearinghouse through Summer 2024.
“Access to enhanced data resources is critical to advancing higher education in Texas and ensuring the state’s economic competitiveness,” said Commissioner of Higher Education Harrison Keller, in a press release. “I want to thank the Texas Legislature for appropriating funds to enable the Coordinating Board to retain these services and enhance resources for Texas institutions to access actionable, real-time data to better monitor student persistence and graduation rates.”
As an enhancement to THECB’s rich existing state data resources, the student-level data and tools will enable Texas institutions and agencies to better analyze and understand the student educational pipeline from primary schools into and through postsecondary education. The Coordinating Board’s retention of StudentTracker Premium will benefit educational efforts across Texas by:
- Enabling public institutions of higher education in Texas that already purchase StudentTracker services to upgrade to premium services, at no charge, through summer 2024.
- Providing access to custom reports and visualizations of data as well as timely updates to enrollment and completion data.
- Providing additional de-identified data to the state’s three Education Research Centers for research purposes.
- Assisting the Texas Education Agency in analyzing data for high school graduates who leave the state to pursue higher education.
All Texas public higher education institutions have received log-in credentials to access StudentTracker Premium services and are taking advantage of the enhanced data solutions available to them.
“StudentTracker is an essential service for colleges and universities,” said Andi Liner, regional relationship manager for the National Student Clearinghouse. “StudentTracker provides Texas and institutions across the nation the opportunity to create wins in student success and graduation. The continued partnership with THECB will allow Texas institutions to utilize actionable data to drive student enrollment.”
StudentTracker® is the only nationwide source of college enrollment and degree data. Over 3,600 colleges and universities — enrolling over 97% of all students in public and private U.S. institutions — regularly provide enrollment and graduation data to the Clearinghouse. Through StudentTracker, you can query our participating institutions’ student data to perform all types of educational research and analyses — quickly, easily, and affordably.
