This workshop is focused on helping those new to the PDP, or those interested in learning more about the PDP, better navigate these dashboards and use this information to improve student outcomes.

Using the PDP for Student Retention: Who Am I Losing and When Are They Leaving?
Increasing student retention is one of the most common priorities in any institution’s strategic plan. The National Student Clearinghouse’s Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) dashboards can help data professionals better understand which students are leaving and when.
Participants will have an opportunity to conduct their own inquiries using their institutional dashboards and share their findings in a community of practice. Answering these types of questions will help institutions and data professionals to inform strategic planning and achieve institutional priorities.
Who should attend?
Current PDP users who have experience with basic PDP dashboard navigation.

Comparing PDP and IPEDS Metrics
The Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) are both important reporting systems in higher education, each serving unique purposes. While both collect valuable data on student success, their focuses differ fundamentally. The PDP is a student-centered system, whereas IPEDS is institution centered. Because some student success metrics overlap between these systems, it’s natural to assume their values will align, but often they do not. This workshop explores the reasons behind these differences and provides guidance on when to use each system effectively.
Who should attend?
Current PDP users who have experience with basic PDP dashboard navigation.
