Hello and welcome to this short tutorial on the completers outcomes available in StudentTracker 3.0.

When you access StudentTracker 3.0 you’ll first see the landing page dashboard.  Scroll down to Completers and click the title.

Across the top there are three tabs: View Completers, View Credentials and View Credentialing Institutions. Let's start with View Completers.

When you select the View completers tab, you’ll see a visual similar to what is on the homepage. In addition, there are three call outs for different outcomes: how many students earned a bachelors, how many students earned a credential during or within 30 days of graduating high school and credential earned within 6 years of leaving high school.

On this user interface, you can also select a different cohort year and enable filters to see outcomes by demographic data.

Let’s move on to the View Credentials tab. There are three outcomes here. One that shows the highest credential earned, total credentials the cohort earned broken down by the credential level, and a scatter chart on how long it took students to earn their first credential. Hover over the rectangles or circles, and you can see an overlay with the total number for that group.

Lastly, the View Credentialing Institutions tab. There’s a table representing where students are earning their highest credential. You can narrow this down to in-state or out-of-state. The left-hand column lists the credential level and the header row is the institution type: 2-year public, 4-year public, 4-year private non-profit, 4-year private for-profit and other. And it also lists the totals. For example, for students who earned an associate’s degree, 14 earned their degree at a 2-year public and 21 earned their degree at a 4-year public. That might be interesting to research further. And again, you can change the cohort year and enable demographic filters.

Let’s go to the most recent cohort. 13 have obtained an associate’s degree. 5 from a 2 year and 8 from a 4-year public. AND one person has already earned a bachelor’s degree. You may want to know who these individuals are.

You can run an Analysis Ready Report for the most recent cohort and remove the blanks from the filter on the FIRST CREDENTIAL POST HS column. Now you have the list of students who graduated. You can see the majors and postsecondary institutions they graduated from.

You may also be curious as to whether those associate’s degree earners go on to earn a bachelors. You’ll need to wait for a few years to pass to learn this.
