The National Student Clearinghouse announced today that V. He recently retired after working 30 years at his alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin, in various roles.
With an extensive background in software development and design, Stanfield will work with the Clearinghouse’s executive leadership team and staff in supporting the evolution of current products and services. He will also help drive the scalability of new national initiatives to advance the Clearinghouse’s mission of access to its trusted services. In addition, Stanfield will represent the Clearinghouse at regional, national and international education and technology events.
“Throughout his career at The University of Texas at Austin, Shelby Stanfield has been both a local and national leader in developing secure and efficient electronic transfer of educational records, including reverse transfer initiatives and electronic data exchange, to improve higher education services and operations,” said Rick Torres, President and CEO of the Clearinghouse. “I’m grateful that he will be working daily with us to advance our vision to offer the most complete look at student success throughout the entire education-workforce continuum.”
Stanfield formerly served on the Clearinghouse’s Board of Directors, the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center’s Board of Directors, and as Chair of the Clearinghouse Advisory Committee, and is the former President of the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACRAO). He currently is on the Foreign Credential Services of America Board of Directors.
“I’m excited about joining the National Student Clearinghouse to continue making a significant impact in education, beyond my wonderful career at UT-Austin, and at such a critical time for the benefit of students and society,” said V. Shelby Stanfield. “Because I’ve worked so closely with the Clearinghouse as a board member and advisor, it’s an honor to now help implement the vision of the Board, in concert with the executives and staff members who I have known for many years.”
