Two New Reverse Transfer Enhancements: Core Course Data Elements and SPEEDE Delivery

by NSC Blog | Mar 7, 2016 | Reverse Transfer, SPEEDE Server, Transcript & Data Exchange Services |

The Clearinghouse has introduced two enhancements to our Reverse Transfer platform. This will streamline the process for degree granting institutions to perform degree audits and award associate degrees to eligible students.

  1. As a result of feedback from institutions, we added data elements to the course/grade data file: 1) information about core courses and 2) whether or not a student has completed their core competency courses.
  2. We have enabled institutions that receive transcripts via the SPEEDE network to receive course/grade data from our host institutions using the same process.

How Does the SPEEDE Enhancement Work?

We convert the course/grade data output file to the PESC TS130 standard transcript format and deliver it on behalf of the degree granting institution to the SPEEDE account indicated on the set-up form. This eliminates the administrative burden of supporting a different business process for reverse transfer data. (The option to signup has been included on the Reverse Transfer participation agreement set-up form.)
