Over 3.5 Million Students Reported to NSLDS via Supplemental SSCR Roster Reporting
In December, the Clearinghouse launched an enhancement that automatically supplements your SSCRs by sending to NSLDS students who 1) previously appeared on a Clearinghouse roster and 2) are actively enrolled at either your or another school. No additional reporting by your school is required.
As of April 15, 2016, the Clearinghouse has requested NSLDS add over 3.5 million records to our participating schools’ rosters. These are students who appeared on previous rosters processed by the Clearinghouse, but not on current SSCR rosters — despite these students being currently enrolled.
The number of student deferment form requests processed by schools has significantly declined due to our new Supplemental SSCR Roster Reporting enhancement.
The result? More timely and accurate reporting of student statuses, which has contributed to the immediate and significant decline in the number of student deferment form requests processed by schools.
For more on why we created this enhancement, what federal regulations say, and an explanation of why students may be excluded from your roster, read our announcement post.
