On-Demand Webinar Provides Overview of Growing Service

The National Student Clearinghouse’s DiplomaVerify is now used by more than 1,000 Schools nationwide. This includes three of the top 10 largest school districts and high schools from 36 states, including California, Texas, Maryland, and Florida.

“In the months prior to launching DiplomaVerify, we heard from districts around the country that it could take them days or even weeks to verify a graduate’s high school diploma – tying up staff resources and worse – delaying the ability for their graduates to start a job they were hired for,” said Phil Smith, Senior Manager, Secondary Education Relationships. “Once COVID hit and district offices went remote, the delays for a district to verify high school diplomas could even be longer. In just under two years, I’m excited that we’ve been able to assist more than 1,000 high schools across 35 states to remove barriers and empower their graduates to succeed in the labor force.”

As schools look to meet the growing demand for record verification, the Clearinghouse’s DiplomaVerify is an increasingly important tool for high schools. DiplomaVerify uses data that schools submit to the Clearinghouse to give employers access to diploma verifications. DiplomaVerify is a free process for both schools and students, with the program being financed by employers and background screening firms. It allows employers to access the system without school or district staff assistance directly, and the service runs even when the office is closed.

DiplomaVerify is also secure and trustworthy. Employers must have a graduate’s authorization to verify their graduation records, and the Clearinghouse is widely recognized for its commitment to data security and student privacy.

All high schools should consider this program and its ability to give valuable time back to counselors and administrators while empowering graduates to take the next step forwards in their careers efficiently.
