Why do you have my enrollment information?

The National Student Clearinghouse is a nonprofit organization that provides educational reporting, verification and other services to colleges and universities throughout the U.S. As the authorized legal representative of its participating schools, the Clearinghouse is considered a primary source for enrollment, degree and attendance data and confirms this data on behalf of its participating schools to requestors without additions or changes.

Schools participating in our Verification Services provide the Clearinghouse with electronic copies of their historical degree and attendance records, as well as periodic updates. Employers and other requesters, who agree to our terms and conditions (which includes the purpose of their verification), can submit verification requests at degreeverify.org, entering personal information about the subject of their search (e.g., subject’s name, birth date, and in some cases the Social Security Number, etc.). The Clearinghouse uses this information to find the exact subject in question and provide the requestor with an immediate verification of the subject’s academic credentials.

The Clearinghouse reserves the right to provide the identity of any requestor who orders or obtains student information to the student who was the subject of the order.

Note: the student must submit a written request via email in order for the Clearinghouse to provide this information. The written request should include the student’s name, date of birth, and the school name(s).
