What Is EnrollmentVerify?
Every day, thousands of firms must verify current student enrollment status: health
insurers, employers, credit grantors, housing providers and companies that
provide services and discounts to students. Through EnrollmentVerify, the
Clearinghouse processes all the current enrollment verification inquiries received by
participating colleges and universities using the information that they already
provide to us as part of our core service, student loan enrollment
verification.
EnrollmentVerify users can instantly confirm a student's current enrollment at any participating
institution via our secure Web site. EnrollmentVerify's online access eliminates the complications and
delays associated with manually processing requests through individual colleges.
Users can purchase current enrollment verifications online
via credit card or by opening an EnrollmentVerify account.
How does EnrollmentVerify work?
More than 3,300 colleges, enrolling 92% of US college students,
participate in the Clearinghouse's core service: verifying current enrollment
for student loan borrowers. These institutions regularly report the
enrollment status for all their students to the Clearinghouse. The
Clearinghouse, in turn, provides status and deferment information, on
their behalf, to guaranty agencies, lenders, servicers, and the
Department of Education. When an institution opts to participate in
EnrollmentVerify, we use this same enrollment data to perform
verifications for third-party service providers.
Organizations that review student applications (such as health insurers
and housing providers) can verify a student's current enrollment via the
EnrollmentVerify
Web site by entering personal information about the subject of their search (e.g., subject's name, Social Security
number, birth date, etc.). The Clearinghouse uses the institution's
latest enrollment data to find the exact subject in question and provide the requestor with an immediate verification of the subject's
enrollment.

performing an enrollment verification.
What are the different types of verification responses?
-
Confirmed,
Currently Enrolled: EnrollmentVerify
found a match in its database and was able to confirm that the
student is currently enrolled.
-
Confirmed, Not
Currently Enrolled: EnrollmentVerify
found a match in its database and was able to confirm that the
student is NOT currently enrolled.
-
Unable to Confirm: Occasionally an educational institution will
not verify enrollment even when a student is currently enrolled, such as when a student has previously exercised
the right to restrict the release of information without consent
or there is some other hold on his or her record. You should ask the
individual to contact the educational institution directly to
request the necessary verification.
What information is available through Transaction History?
If you open an EnrollmentVerify account, you will be able to access
records for each of your verifications online. Your Transaction History shows when each request was submitted and completed,
and each verification's fee. Total fees are updated in real time, giving you immediate access to current billing information.
Information can be sorted by school, subject name and more. Because each authorized
EnrollmentVerify user
has an individual ID and password, it's possible to view all requests made by
each user.
How do I sign up for EnrollmentVerify membership?
We encourage organizations that perform frequent enrollment verifications
to become Clearinghouse members by opening an EnrollmentVerify account. You'll
enjoy discounted enrollment verifications, faster online verifications,
and access to online transaction history.
